James: Welcome, Negronis with Nord, episode number 81. We have a very special guest, Anthony Polcari is here. Everyone recognizes him. I swear I just posted like an hour ago that you're going to be on the show. I've got like 10 people texting me being like, what do I need to do to be involved in this conversation? Like, can I come over right now?

You have maybe seen his content you know, going viral over the last couple of months. He is the king of fit checks. He is DC's most eligible bachelor, and I'm so happy you're here and this worked out.

Tony: Oh my god, thank you so much. That introduction is way too kind. You are too kind.

Thank you so much. And I am very, very honored. I think some people in DC would go, I may not be the most eligible, but I'm honored by the designation. I'm gonna run with it. We're saying it. You just... It's like you just run with it, I think. Wish it into existence. Absolutely. No, but I am really happy to be here.

James: Thank you so much. I want to ask the question that is, I think everyone's burning question, which is, are you for real? Is this real?

Tony: Yes. And believe me, I couldn't act this out if I tried and I was an actor in high school. I could not act this out if I tried. This needs no embellishment. This account is basically as I tell a lot of people, it's a little glimpse into my soul. It's a little glimpse of who I am. So I carry myself, whether it be quirky to some or enlightening to others. This is what I am. This is what I've been my whole life. It's what I've been raised to be.

And it's funny that you, you know, a lot of people, including people that were, you know, teachers of mine and actually one of them was quoted in the Washington post is saying this. That when they first started teaching me in high school, they didn't think I was real. There was no way that, this guy must be a fraud. There's no way he's like this. And like, we're so tight now. But he was like, it took me a few months of having you in class to know that you're actually this real person.

And for me, I think we've gotten to a place in this world and, you know, country, world, whatever, that if you show any positivity consistently, then you must not be real, right? And like, negativity has become, and polarization has become such a big part of the daily life that anybody that has even a glimpse of consistent positivity is not real.

And that's not the case, or, you know, this is how I actually live my life. Look, I have my moments where I'm not exactly the happiest and times can get tough and hectic and, you know, I have other emotions besides a smile, but I do live my life trying to find as much piece of joy as I can in each day because that's how I think you sustain it. A good life.
