Product Designer

About Us:

Fohr was founded with the purpose of bringing together two groups of people who share a love for storytelling; creative brands and creative influencers.

We believe in taking care of our people, our products, and our profits - very specifically in that order. We constantly seek progress over perfection. We see failure as opportunity to learn. We curse in the office, we play the music loud, and sometimes we drink whiskey before 5pm. We don't expect everyone to do this, but it is something that will not change.

We’re looking for a talented designer to join our small team. We’ve got ambitious plans so you’ll be a vital part of expanding our marketing efforts, improving our product, and refining the user experience. You will work closely with all members of our product team and be a significant contributor to all aspects of the design process from ideation to execution.

About the job:

- You will work closely with the Product Design Lead to design and maintain a consistent and usable database of product design components, including symbols, pages, design flows.
- You will create wireframes and pixel-level mockups to define simple and intuitive experiences for users
- You will iterate on designs and drive product features from concept through final implementation and polish all while working with product managers and developers
- You will improve and maintain digital and print logo/branding materials, and help develop our branding/style guide to inform both marketing and development teams.
- You will lead design critiques, gather & give feedback, and make informed decisions.

About you:

- You have 2+ years experience as a graphic / UI/UX designer; experience at a startup is a plus.
- You are a well-rounded designer, with a strong understanding of design principles including layout, typography, and color theory.
- You love concepting, wireframes, prototypes, and visual design.
- You can deliver exceptional design at high volumes under tight timelines and manage multiple projects at once, all without requiring a ton of supervision.
- You are eager to learn new things. We don’t expect you to know everything, but expect you to be willing to try. You are humble and thoughtful, with a fine sense of humor – this is important.
- You are proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch and InVision.
- You have a familiarity with web design, HTML and CSS.
- You are located in NYC and available to work onsite in our Soho office.
