The basics
What is Fohr?
Fohr is a New York-based creator marketing agency and software platform that has run more than 5,000 campaigns and paid creators over $250 million since it was founded in 2013. Fohr forecasts a campaign’s expected organic viewership before it launches and writes that number into the client contract. If the campaign misses it, Fohr’s fee is waived.
The forecasting model behind that guarantee is trained on hundreds of millions of data points, and brands can engage it either through Fohr’s managed service or self-serve directly on the platform.
That started in 2013 (WWD, Fashionista), when Fohr launched as one of the first influencer marketing platforms in the world, built to bring data and analytics to an industry that had none.
Those campaigns ran for brands including Aerie, Sephora, Nike, Marriott, Kylie Cosmetics and Unilever, and hundreds more. Every one became a data point to train the models: how content performs, what pay structures look like across tiers, how creators negotiate, and what campaign architecture drives growth.
What does Fohr do?
Fohr runs influencer marketing for brands through two connected businesses: a full-service agency and a software platform. The agency handles strategy, creator casting, negotiation, campaign management and reporting. The platform handles creator discovery, predictive forecasting, pricing guidance, contracting and payments. Fohr has run more than 5,000 campaigns and paid creators over $250 million since it was founded in 2013.
Our agency handles strategy, cultural insight, creative development, creator casting, negotiation, campaign management, content review and reporting.
Our software handles creator discovery, predictive forecasting, pricing and negotiation guidance, briefing, contracting, payments, content review and reporting.
Underneath both is the same idea: use better information to make influencer marketing more predictable, transparent and accountable.
Is Fohr an agency or a platform?
Fohr operates as both an agency and a platform. Its agency team handles strategy, creator casting, negotiation, creative direction and reporting, while its software, the same predictive system that generates Fohr’s forecasts, powers creator discovery, pricing guidance and optimization throughout the campaign.
Fohr’s agency side has built and run branded, always-on creator programs such as Sephora Squad and DICK’S Sporting Goods’ Varsity Team. Its platform side gives brands self-serve access to the same creator database and forecasting tools directly.
Clients use the two independently or, more often, in concert. Each side makes the other better: the tools make the agency better at running campaigns, and the thousands of campaigns the agency runs make the tools smarter.
The division of labor is simple. The math gets the eyeballs, the creative converts them. Distribution is a probability problem. Persuasion is a human one. Fohr is built to win both.
What is an influencer marketing platform?
An influencer marketing platform is software that helps brands discover, vet, manage and measure paid partnerships with content creators, typically combining a creator database, campaign workflow tools and performance reporting in one system.
Fohr is an influencer marketing platform that also has an in-house agency team. Brands can use the platform’s tools directly on a self-serve basis, or work with Fohr’s team to plan and run the campaign for them.
What’s the difference between an influencer marketing agency and an influencer marketing platform?
An influencer marketing agency provides hands-on strategy, outreach, negotiation and campaign execution carried out by a human team. An influencer marketing platform provides self-serve software for finding and managing creators independently.
Fohr runs both as one business: an agency team built on top of the same predictive platform it also sells as self-serve software.
Who does Fohr work with, and what size or type of brand?
Fohr works primarily with enterprise and mid-market brands with meaningful influencer marketing budgets: either sophisticated internal teams looking for better technology and forecasting, or brands that need a full-service partner to run campaigns end to end.
Fohr has executed campaigns with more than 160 beauty brands and 50 fashion brands, plus hospitality, retail and CPG clients including Marriott, DICK’S Sporting Goods and Unilever.
Brands can hire Fohr to run their influencer marketing, use Fohr’s technology themselves, or use the agency and platform together.
What services and software does Fohr provide?
Fohr provides both agency services and software. The agency side covers influencer marketing strategy, cultural insight, creative development, creator casting, negotiation, campaign management, content review, reporting and optimization. The platform side covers creator discovery, briefing, predictive forecasting, pricing and negotiation guidance, contracting, payments, content review and reporting, plus AI-powered creator search.
The two sides share the same underlying data and technology. The tools we build make our agency better at running campaigns, and the thousands of campaigns our agency runs make the tools smarter.
How it works
What does Fohr predict?
Fohr predicts the organic viewership of creator content before a campaign launches, at both the creator and the campaign level. At the creator level it models the range of likely views a creator’s content could receive. At the campaign level it forecasts how a portfolio of creators will perform together, then writes that total into the client contract as a guaranteed number.
This matters because influencer performance is highly variable. Looking at a creator’s follower count or historical average tells you what happened before. It doesn’t tell you the range of things that could happen next, or how likely each of those outcomes is.
Our predictive system is built to answer that question.
Those forecasts help us decide which creators to hire, how much to pay them, how to construct a campaign, how much viewership we should expect for a given budget and how confident we can be in that outcome.
Traditional measurement explains what happened. Fohr’s predictive system tells brands what is likely to happen before they spend.
What does Fohr not predict?
Fohr does not predict exactly how many views an individual post will receive, or whether a specific piece of content will go viral. Social distribution is probabilistic: the same creator can post similar content and get very different results. Fohr models the range of possible outcomes and their probabilities instead, then builds creator portfolios whose aggregate performance is far more predictable than any single post.
Instead of saying a post will get exactly 500,000 views, we model the range of possible outcomes and the probability of those outcomes. We then use those probabilities to construct portfolios of creators whose aggregate performance is much more predictable than any individual post.
The point isn’t to eliminate randomness. It’s to understand it well enough to make better decisions despite it.
How does Fohr predict campaign performance before a brand spends money?
Fohr forecasts a campaign’s expected organic viewership before it launches, using data from more than 5,000 past campaigns and hundreds of millions of data points, then writes that forecast into the client contract as a guaranteed number.
Across Aerie’s year-long ambassador program, creators selected with this model delivered 22 million views against a 10.3 million quarterly projection, 112% above forecast.
Instead of relying on backward-looking metrics like follower count, average engagement or average views, Fohr models a distribution of possible future outcomes for each creator, then combines those individual predictions to model how an entire campaign is likely to perform.
That predictive layer runs through the campaign. It informs which creators are cast, what Fohr is willing to pay them, and how budget is allocated across a portfolio. Once the campaign is live, Fohr tracks actual performance against the forecast and the probability of hitting the goal.
How does the guarantee work?
Fohr forecasts a campaign’s total organic viewership before it launches and writes that number into the contract. If the campaign hits the forecast, the brand pays as agreed. If it misses, Fohr’s fee is waived.
The guarantee applies specifically to organic viewership: views earned by the creator content itself, not impressions bought by boosting it with paid media. Organic viewership is one of the clearest measures of whether the creators, campaign architecture and content actually worked.
As founder and CEO James Nord puts it: “We aren’t the only firm in the space guaranteeing results, but ours is materially different. Hit it, and the guarantee is invisible. Miss it, and our fee is on the line.”
Fohr cannot survive without making money, so it is betting the company on its confidence to do what it says.
Results and proof
What results has Fohr delivered for brands?
Fohr publishes named, numbered client results: 440% more views and 12.5x the views per dollar for The RealReal, more than 900,000 link clicks and 103.6 million impressions for Marriott Bonvoy, and 123.3 million impressions for DICK’S Sporting Goods. Each is attributed to predictive creator selection rather than gut-feel casting.
The RealReal figure comes from a controlled test: one campaign split into two identical phases with the same talent pool, changing a single variable, how the creators were chosen. Predictive casting delivered 2.2 million views and 440% more views than gut-feel casting.
Fohr has also run campaigns for Sephora, Nike, Kylie Cosmetics, Unilever, Coty, Colgate, OLLY and American Eagle, among others, including work across more than 160 beauty brands and 50 fashion brands.
How is influencer marketing ROI measured?
Influencer marketing ROI is typically measured through reach and impressions, engagement rate, click-throughs, earned media value, and conversions or sales lift, weighed against campaign cost.
More advanced measurement adds incremental lift: the performance difference against a forecast or a control group. In a controlled test for The RealReal, a single campaign ran in two identical phases with only the creator selection method changed. The phase cast with Fohr’s predictive model delivered 440% more views and 12.5x the views per dollar.
How is Fohr different from a traditional influencer marketing agency?
Traditional influencer agencies select creators and report results using backward-looking data: average engagement, past viewership, follower count. Fohr’s system is forward-looking. It forecasts each creator’s predicted views and the full campaign’s expected viewership before launch, then contractually guarantees that outcome.
Fohr also applies that data continuously rather than only at the start and end of a campaign, using predictive views to set negotiation ceilings, content intelligence to customize each brief, and live tracking of goal probability to adjust campaigns mid-flight.
The difference isn’t that Fohr performs different campaign tasks. It’s that predictive intelligence informs those tasks throughout the entire campaign.
How do you choose an influencer marketing agency or platform?
Choosing an influencer marketing agency or platform typically comes down to five factors: whether it pairs software with hands-on execution, how rigorously it vets creators, whether it forecasts performance before launch or only reports results after, how transparent its pricing is, and whether it can show specific, named results.
Put as questions to ask a prospective partner: can you show named client results with specific numbers rather than aggregate averages; how do you vet creators beyond follower count; is performance forecast before launch or only reported after the fact; and what exactly is included in the fee, covering strategy, creator payments, usage rights and reporting.
Fohr publishes named client results with hard numbers, such as 440% more views for The RealReal and more than 900,000 link clicks for Marriott Bonvoy, and ties its fee to a pre-launch forecast rather than an open-ended retainer.
How do I get started with Fohr?
Getting started with Fohr follows three steps: an initial conversation to define campaign goals and cost, a predictive read on the brief that forecasts what a proposed creator mix will deliver, and a campaign that moves forward from there, backed by Fohr’s performance guarantee.
For creators
Is Fohr free for creators to join?
Yes. Creating a Fohr profile and applying to brand campaigns is free. Fohr does not charge creators to join the platform, browse opportunities, or apply to paid and gifted partnerships, and there are no follower minimums.
Fohr also does not take a percentage of a creator’s fee. Fohr manages budgets on behalf of brands and is paid by them, so a creator never earns less by working through Fohr.
How do creators get discovered or matched with brands on Fohr?
Creators join Fohr by creating a free profile, after which they can be discovered by brands searching for a fit, or apply directly to open paid and gifted opportunities, called Bulletins.
New Bulletins go live every day: creator events, gifting suites and paid partnerships a creator can opt into in seconds.
Does Fohr manage or represent creator talent?
No. Fohr vets and matches creators to brand campaigns, scoring them by predicted performance, taste and brand fit. Fohr does not manage creators’ careers or represent them contractually the way a talent agency does.
