This week we were fortunate enough to be joined by Moonlynn Tsai and Kyo Pang, the amazing duo behind one of New York’s hottest new restaurants, Kopitiam. The restaurant, that was originally started by Kyo to honor her heritage and the recipes her ancestors passed down over the years, originally had four seats (and the line to get in wrapped around the block). Facing a substantial rent increase, she was faced with having to close it, until Moonlynn came in and they decided to go into business together. They reopened around the block with nearly forty seats and found immediate success. Being lauded in essentially every major publication, their leap was soon validated by the critics, and the throngs of devoted patrons.

We love food, and especially trying new restaurants here at Fohr, so we were very excited to have them on the show. We talked about how they designed their restaurants and menus. How they are growing the brand, and how they use Instagram to drive business, the difficulties of owning a restaurant in NYC, and much much more. Link in bio for the full episode!
